Eco-Performance...
Environmentally-friendly motor fuels have entered a new era with two new Eco-Performance™ fuels from Eco-Performance Products, Ltd. Both Eco-Performance Fuel for gasoline engines and Eco-Performance LP BioDiesel for diesel engines include significant proportions of renewable materials derived from natural grown or recycled vegetable oils. Moreover, they are designed to be used in existing gasoline and diesel engines without expensive modifications. Even better, they burn more cleanly than the old-style fuels, lessening air pollution. Because the fuels utilize natural products in addition to petroleum, they could lessen the world’s dependence on non-renewal energy supplies.
Eco-Performance Fuel is an ethanol-based blended fuel that can be utilized in factory production vehicles with no modifications, yet preserves the environmental benefits of high-alcohol fuels. Emissions levels are far below EPA standards, and much better than the best gasolines. In fact, emissions from Eco-Performance Fuel are on about the same level as those from compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel, which requires extensive and expensive modification to a vehicle’s fuel system.
This fuel is not yet sold or produced in the US. However, it is the only high-alcohol fuel whose sale is currently permitted in Japan, due to its high quality. We will be establishing distribution channels in Mexico, Australia, and other parts of the world in the near future. Sales in the US will depend on changes in the law to make it easier to obtain ethanol from renewable resources at a competitive price.
Eco-Performance LP BioDiesel is an 80/20 blend of ultra-low-sulfur petroleum diesel and pure bio-diesel made from vegetable oil. Eco-Performance LP BioDiesel can be used in place of conventional diesel fuel, requiring no modifications at all to virtually any existing diesel engine. Thus, it can be used in automobiles, fleet vehicles, municipal equipment, tractors and farm implements, marine equipment, and so on. The ‘LP’ in LP BioDiesel stands for ‘low particulates.’ Particulates are the microscopic particles that make up the clouds of black smoke so characteristic of low-grade normal diesel fuel. LP BioDiesel, on the other hand, produces particulate, unburned hydrocarbon, and CO emissions that are up to one hundred times less than EPA standards, thus significantly reducing pollution levels to the environment.
Scientists believe carbon dioxide is one the main greenhouse gasses contributing to global warming. Eco-Performance LP Biodiesel reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than seventy five percent over petroleum diesel. Using a blend of twenty percent biodiesel reduces carbon dioxide emissions by fifteen percent. Biodiesel also produces fewer particulate, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide emissions, all targeted as public health risks by the Environmental Protection Agency. As Eco-Performance LP Biodiesel can be used in conventional diesel engines, the alternative fuel can directly replace petroleum products; reducing the country’s dependence on imported oil.
LP BioDiesel offers safety benefits over petroleum diesel because it is much less combustible, with a flashpoint greater than 150 C, compared to 77 C for petroleum diesel. It can be safely handled, stored, and transported. |
